The dashed lines split the city into its five parts. Burnside Street divides north from south, the Willamette River divides east from west, and Williams Avenue divides N from NE.

As far as I know, Le Pigeon is probably the most famous Portland restaurant. It's a French restaurant with a lot of bird. It's quite fancy, expensive, and can be hard to get a table. Canard, next door, is the more casual sister restaurant.

Food carts

Go out of your way
The most well-known and established food cart pod in Portland. While the carts have turned over, the pod itself has lasted. Potato Champion is an old classic: get the poutine, or fries with lots of their fun sauces. I almost always go for Pyro Pizza and usually get the fennel sausage pizza.

Another pod, just a block from Cartopia, with more food options and some really good carts. I like the Polish and Ukrainian dumpling cart and Montage mac and cheese.
